How to Learn Anything Faster and Retain It Longer

From a great article at Doist:

  1. Choose a concept to learn. Select a topic you’re interested in learning about and write it at the top of a blank page in a notebook.
  2. Teach it to yourself or someone else. Write everything you know about a topic out as if you were explaining it to yourself. Alternately, actually teach it to someone else.
  3. Return to the source material if you get stuck. Go back to whatever you’re learning from – a book, lecture notes, podcast – and fill the gaps in your knowledge.
  4. Simplify your explanations and create analogies. Streamline your notes and explanation, further clarifying the topic until it seems obvious. Additionally, think of analogies that feel intuitive.

A lot of the strategies are easily implemented with ToDoist.

Questions for an Employer Mandating Vaccinations

These questions have been developed by Gary Kohls, MD.  Dr. Kohls [send him mail] is a retired physician from Duluth, MN, USA. In the decade prior to his retirement, he practiced what could best be described as “holistic (non-drug) and preventive mental health care”. Since his retirement, he has written a weekly column for the Duluth Reader, an alternative newsweekly magazine. A Post-Pandemic Christian Relocation Guide

For many years the trend towards overt hostility towards Christian families has been clear, but the pandemic and mask/vaccine mandates have revealed the threat in an undeniable way.

Many Christians have discovered that where they live is directly correlated with the threat to their livelihood and liberties.

In the near future it may even be a threat to your physical freedom.

Most Americans, and indeed, those from the developed world, now have the ability to live and work almost anywhere.  This begs the question; why not choose a place to live that provides the greatest opportunities for your family to flourish with the least threats to faith and freedom?

Along these lines, I’ve created a series of worksheets in Google Sheets with the goal of developing a logical approach to analyzing potential locations for raising a family.  I’ve provided the template and offer many questions I feel are relevant, and you can edit/add to these with the data points you think are relevant.

For example, I believe if you evaluate living in a rural ‘red’ county in a ‘red’ state, you will find that these locations are much more conducive to family life than living in an urban ‘blue’ county in a ‘blue’ state.

You might see the risk as such that just living in rural America is not safe enough…so I’ve made it easy to evaluate others countries as well.

The truth about the vaccine from an immunologist and virologist

From immunologist and virologist Robert W Malone, MD:

Delta has an Ro of about 8, about 3x that of the Alpha (ref- CDC). With these leaky vaccines, if we were to have 100% vaccine uptake and perfect mask use we cannot stop the spread of Delta (ref- CDC).

the current vaccines provide about 50-60% efficacy in protection from infection. They are not fully protective.

if you are vaccinated and become infected (“breakthrough”), the virus will replicate at the same or higher levels than if you were unvaccinated and then become infected.

if you are vaccinated and then become infected, your risk of transmitting virus to someone else is quite high – remember, the Ro measures how likely you are to transmit the virus.

if you are vaccinated and then become infected, your risk of developing severe disease or dying is better than if you were not vaccinated and then become infected with Delta.

Therefore, if you are vaccinated and then become infected, you MAY have a higher risk of becoming a “superspreader” because you are less likely to show disease. This has not been measured, but it should be.
