The 40 Day Formula to Conquer any Vice or Addiction
If you’re really struggling with a vice or an addiction, this formula has worked to free people from lifetime addictions. I’ve shared it with thousands and I’ve never known it to fail.
Morning Prayer
Begin each morning with prayer. Start with the simple Guardian Angel prayer. Then give thanks to God for keeping you safe throughout the night, for giving you another opportunity to serve Him, to do penance, to serve others, to make reparation for your sins, to grow in holiness. There are many good Morning Prayers in the 1962 Missal from Angelus Press. If you’re working on a particular vice or habit, make sure you ask Our Lord and your Guardian Angel for specific help throughout the day to avoid the near occasion of sin and to grow in the opposing virtue.
Daily holy hour with particular emphasis on mental prayer
The daily holy hour is the centerpiece of this strategy for victory over sin. It’s best done first thing in the morning, after the bathroom and after coffee, but before anything else.
Your goal here is to enter into an intimate conversation with God. A good starting point is mediation on the readings for the day, or the breviary, and then quietly turn your thoughts and quiet internal conversation towards Our Lord. Share the things that are on your mind. Tell him about your hopes, dreams, fears. Then stop talking. Direct your imagination towards the readings of the day or a mystery of the rosary. Stay silent … Read the rest

Pray this daily for thirty days:
… Read the restOh, St. Joseph, whose protection is so great, so prompt, so strong,
before the throne of God, I place in you all my interests and desires.
Oh, St. Joseph, do assist me by your powerful intercession,
and obtain for me from your Divine Son
all spiritual blessings, through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
So that, having engaged here below your heavenly power,
I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of fathers.Oh, St. Joseph, I never weary contemplating you and Jesus asleep in your arms;
I dare not approach while he reposes near your heart.
Press him in my name and kiss his fine head for me and
ask him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath.St. Joseph, patron of departing souls – pray for me.
Amen.

Insight into Putin’s Motivation
This article originally appeared at Ria.ru and then disappeared. I’m reposting the English translation here:
The offensive of Russia and the new world
A new world is being born before our eyes. Russia’s military operation in Ukraine has ushered in a new era – and in three dimensions at once. And of course, in the fourth, internal Russian. Here begins a new period both in ideology and in the very model of our socio-economic system – but this is worth talking about separately a little later.
Russia is restoring its unity – the tragedy of 1991, this terrible catastrophe in our history, its unnatural dislocation, has been overcome. Yes, at a great cost, yes, through the tragic events of virtual civil war, because now brothers, separated by belonging to the Russian and Ukrainian armies, are still shooting at each other, but there will be no more Ukraine as anti-Russia. Russia is restoring its historical fullness, gathering the Russian world, the Russian people together – in its entirety of Great Russians, Belarusians and Little Russians. If we had abandoned this, if we had allowed the temporary division to take hold for centuries, then we would not only betray the memory of our ancestors but would also be cursed by our descendants for allowing the disintegration of the Russian land.
Vladimir Putin has assumed, without a drop of exaggeration, a historic responsibility by deciding not to leave the solution of the Ukrainian question to future generations. After all, the need to solve … Read the rest
