Consecration of A Marriage to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on Your Wedding Day

Consecration of Your Marriage to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on Your Wedding Day

Most Holy Virgin Mary,
Mother of God and our Mother,
Queen of the Most Holy Rosary and Queen of Families,
we come before thee today as husband and wife
to consecrate our marriage, our family, and our home
to thy Immaculate Heart.

Before Almighty God, we once gave ourselves to one another in the holy Sacrament of Matrimony. Today, together, we place that sacred covenant beneath thy maternal protection.

O Immaculate Heart of Mary, receive our marriage.

Guard the vows we made before God. Preserve between us fidelity, patience, tenderness, purity, and charity. Teach us to forgive quickly, to bear one another’s burdens generously, and to seek the good of the other before ourselves.

When we are strong, keep us humble.
When we are weary, strengthen us.
When we disagree, give us charity.
When we suffer, keep us close to the Cross.
When we prosper, keep our hearts fixed upon Heaven.

Protect our marriage from every influence that would divide us, from temptation and discouragement, from selfishness and resentment, and from every attack of the world, the flesh, and the devil.

Make our home a truly Catholic home.

May Jesus Christ reign as King within it. May His Holy Name be honored here. May prayer be our refuge, the Holy Rosary our familiar companion, the Sacraments our strength, and the Catholic Faith the inheritance we hand faithfully to our children.

We consecrate to thy Immaculate Heart our children and our descendants. Guard their innocence, strengthen their faith, lead back those who may wander, and obtain for each of them the grace of final perseverance.

We offer thee also the crosses God permits within our marriage: our disappointments, anxieties, sacrifices, illnesses, misunderstandings, and sorrows. Unite them to the Cross of thy Divine Son, and teach us never to waste the suffering by which God may sanctify us.

O Mary, thou who didst live with Saint Joseph in the holy house of Nazareth, teach us to make our own home an image of that Holy Family: Jesus at its center, prayer within its walls, sacrifice offered without complaint, work performed faithfully, and love proven by daily acts of self-giving.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, we give thee our past, our present, and all the years that remain to us.

Keep us faithful to Christ.
Keep us faithful to His Church.
Keep us faithful to one another.

Should God grant us many years together, may we use them for His glory. Should He send us suffering, may we bear it together. And when at last death separates us for a time, obtain for us the grace to die in friendship with God, fortified by the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church.

May the marriage begun before God’s altar be completed one day in Heaven, where, through the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ and thy maternal intercession, we may praise the Most Holy Trinity forever.

O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.
Saint Joseph, Protector of Families, pray for us.
Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, bless our marriage and our family.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.

Amen.
