Teachers Wary of Returning to Class, and Online Instruction Too

Posted on July 29, 2020October 30, 2020 by bencassman
They’re going to strike if you want them to work for their paycheck, whether in a classroom or online.
I hope POTUS goes through with the idea to redirect all DOE funds directly to taxpayers on a per-child proportional basis. Let parents decide where the best options are for $12,000 per child and get rid of these union mob bosses and their stranglehold on America’s families

Unmasking the Secret Religion of the Academics

Posted on July 10, 2020 by Jeff Cassman
Yesterday I got into an argument with a bright gal I knew in high school. She’s doing graduate research work at Vanderbilt and has decided she’s an expert on the Wuhan.  The gal was doing lots of sighing and impatiently lecturing me on why we must all wear masks all the time and that any contrary opinion or conduct meant I didn’t deserve the rights and privileges of a citizen (let alone that of a veteran).

You probably know where this is going.

You all know that I don’t mind people wearing masks who are sick, or vulnerable, or who must in order to safely fulfill their duties according to their state in life.  I’ve even organized the purchase of masks for liturgical occasions.
However, I pointed out that even the N95 masks often worn by medical personnel don’t protect you from the Wuhan (these masks are designed for dust, mists, fumes etc., and only offer 95% protection down to 0.3 microns, while the Wuhan virus is 67% smaller than that at just 0.1 microns in size).
Of course, the cotton masks that most of us are wearing in public so we don’t go to jail merely increase the risks of hypoxia, hypercapnia, vertigo and seizures (plus minor stuff like headaches, tinnitus and cognitive impairment).

Anyway, she angrily demanded to know my sources, so I cited the CDC, the WHO, the New England Medical Journal plus the manufacturer of the masks on this point.
I mean, we all

Flower of Charity Donation

Some of you have noticed that the poor around the world have been hardest hit by the Wuhan panic and are suffering terribly. We’ve picked out one family in particular to help and would very much appreciate your assistance. We’re trying to raise just $384 to put this large Catholic family on the path to food sustainability. 100% of your donations go directly to this poor family.

The Aftermath of Third-World Countries’ Covid-19 Lockdowns

Posted on May 26, 2020October 27, 2020 by bencassman
Yesterday I spoke to a friend in Guatemala and another in the Philippines. Both poor countries are on an extreme level of lockdown which closely resembles house arrest and which is resulting in widespread suffering and hunger.
In Guatemala, a nation of 18 million, there have been just 58 deaths from the Wuhan. In the Philippines, a nation of 110 million, there have been just 400 deaths.
These numbers represent a mortality rate around 1/10th of the US!
And yet, while many of us have the means, or access to welfare to survive these illicit lockdowns, the poor who survive day to day are on the verge of starvation. One man in the Philippines begged me for help for his four month old baby who had not eaten in days. His mother cannot produce milk because she hasn’t eaten either.
These immoral state actions may lead to millions of deaths and a global depression which could last a decade. It’s not unreasonable that widespread social unrest and national bankruptcies will lead to civil wars.
What is *really *going on? Why would politicians around the world act in such a disproportionate way? Why would rulers design policies which will so obviously hurt the old, the young, and the poor in a disproportionate manner? Why would the Church cooperate?
